“those lying far apart” (εἰς τὰς πόρρω διῳκισμένας): “Pamphylia, Cilicia, most of Asia minor up to Bithynia and the corners of Pontus.” The same is true of Europe: here he limits himself to the seven regions of Greece, from Thessaly to the Peloponnese. “However, not only the continents are filled with Jewish settlements, but also the best known islands: Euboea, Cyprus, Crete.14 I say nothing of the countries beyond the Euphrates” (because all “except a small portion … are inhabited by Jews”).
